The comp [ 10524 ]
Hi me and my team would love to do it again but the stuff about the league sounds like we will have to be there like every weekend. i know that i wont be able to get out there every weekend or something like that. I rekon that it should all happen on the same day like last time and have it at your head office and just play like last time. (every one has there own tv if there are enough and a team gets there own room) And then just record the result and add em up at the end of the day.

H2 Tournament [ 10508 ]
Sorry I'd edit my last post if the forums had the function. I noticed no-one has said how many players to a team yet... It should be 4v4, of course :).

4v4 4 sure [ 10511 ]
we ran the last tournament 4v4 style and it is a popular live combo, we are thinking min 3 - max 5 or 6 to if youre short a guy for your team you don't have to miss out. (like live drops games down to 3v3 when they're short in matchmaking)

We'll just need to amend team numbers when their playing, and as were planning each team to combat for an hour or 2, you'll be able to rotate a player around etc (if need be).

Whats the feeling on this?

Team sizes [ 10513 ]
Are you saying a team could bring along 3-6 players, and whenever they played an opponent each team would field as many as they could? Like if a 6-player team had to play a 3-player team both teams would play with 3, the 6-player team rotating 3 out? That's an interesting idea, although personally I'd just prefer a 4v4 (can you tell I've got a 4-person team :)?) And why is your forum so buggy? Everytime I try to reply to a post, it logs me out, where I log back in and then try to reply to a post it logs me out again... Eventually got to reply by randomly reloading the page.

But yeah for the comp I'd say Battle Rifle starts are a must, and no motion tracker especially for CTF/Assault and team slayer games.

forums [ 10516 ]
yo tardis - what do you think about solvents forum posting issue?

these are custom forums - so we have had a few teething issues. I haven't had any issues myself but there was an upgrade on the server os recently.

yes we think we'll wait and see maybe 3-5 players per clan.

I have a couple of teams enquiring with only 3 players, this is why I am suggesting a 3 minimum atm.

league play wut [ 10520 ]
i'm curious about your idea of playing it like a league, how often would the games be, would it be okay for us to bring different lineups to different meets?

in my case, i would put in one team, but i have a bunch of friends who would want to be involved, and some who couldn't always make it.

weekly league [ 10526 ]
the idea is for a once a week matchup, some what like a basketball league, we'll probably make it a friday night / sat / sun thing where people are available, the main criteria being that you play your weekly matchup and we record the results.

The idea is spun from live where you can have a clan of up to 100 players, but you can only belong to one clan, so choose wisely!

yet the matches themselve only use a handful from the clans 'pool'.

of course it won't go on forever but we envisage 8 - 12 weeks for the first trial run.

reserve a spot for my team [ 10506 ]
i loved the last one, i thought it was run very professionally, so keep it that way.

my suggestions are : accommodate for halo2's 16 xbox capabilities, each team will want to bring 4 tv's.

personally, i don't mind waiting until after the expansion pack is released so we can play on the new maps

H2 Tournament [ 10507 ]
Well if you guys can run a good tournament I'm sure Nuke and Pave will be happy to attend. I'd suggest "pro" style gametypes should be used (check http://www.mlgpro.co ... wlang for MLG St Louis gametypes if you don't know what I mean). Round robin-style play is great if you've got the time and organisation.

a h2 league [ 10510 ]
yeah they have some nice rules, although the one about throwing a flag out the window in beaver creek is a bit over the top, sounds like a good tactic if you can organize a teammate to grab it !

we are planning to run the tournament as a 'league' style play over about 8 weeks.

We are of course expecting it to be a 4v4, but we might make it flexible so you could basically enter a clan with say 3 - 6 players, when you get matched to play a team who has a different number of players you will need to drop out a team mate etc (if you have more players).

We made a significant loss from our last tournament so pending sponsors donations, large prize monies and the frills will be cut, we just want to get some good healthy h2 competition happening in Adealiade on a regular basis.

We have a trophy and some medals made up. We have a permanent lan setup in our parahills workshop that can accomodate up 32 players.
