N64 Emulation [ 10177 ] [ Back to Forum ]
Does anyone know why the nintendo 64 emulator runs so slow and often freezes on the xbox, is there a newer version of an emulator or do all n64 emulators have this problem?

James, the reason N64 doesn't run smoothly is it doesn't support more than 12 meg for the origal dash. In other words games that are bigger than 12+meg won't run, games that will are Mario 64, and Mario Kart 64. these run almost flawlessly.

With the new Gametronix dash, the new sureal emulator makes most games run even better, games like Banjo Kazooie, Super Smash Bros, Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Harvest Moon, Starfox 64, Legend of Zelda: OofT, Mario Party 2 and 3, Cruis'n USA, Diddy Kong Racing are so far the ones that i have tested and run smoothly!
