ms do sell a wireless adaptor for the xbox which would probably be best, dont know if there is compatibility issues with other wireless routers. but its currently only sold in the usa.

you may be able to pickup a ethernet rj45 to wireless thingo, like a wireless access point to plug the box into as an alternative

If i was to leave my xbox out of the wireless network and connect my xbox to the pc (which is on the wireless 54g network) via a normal ethernet cable, would the performance through xbconnect or xlink be noticeably slower than if my entire network was wired by ethernet and not wireless at all?

net speeds
[ 10253 ]
probably not but that would depend on the distance between your box and the wireless router as speed degrades with distance, youd want to keep it above the speed of your net connection, i get an average speed of about 5meg and my router is about 30 metres from my access point, the fastest adsl connetion dl speed is 1.5meg (that i know)
