Hey Shindog, I've just recently lost my whole gameliset, not the games themselves but the rename i gave everygame, ie all the games have reverted beck to being called promod1 promod2 etc etc. This has happened for no apparent reason i just switched it on and thats how it was. Please tell me i don't have to rename all the games all over again...

hey captain, can you ftp? the game manager creates a gamelist.txt file whic you could edit, to replace the perhaps corrupted file. the file which holds your game names is stored in e\gtxdashVxxxx\gtxdata\data_game.xbx
the gameslist text file is stored in your \GamesList\ folder
there were a few other dash setting stored in there which seemed to have caused that bug. there is a new version out which has fixed this issue. you could take a look at the xbx file with a text editor and see if you can see why it is not loading.
or perhaps its a good time to update ;) how long is your list?

Shindog, What should i be looking for with the xbx file this is what it says: [default] cw=3 gtxid01=PROMODS bc=66 the gamelist.txt file appears correct, downl the left column is the promod names and the right the names i gave it...
How do i get an update, take it back to the guys who did it, should there be a charge for this??

it should read like this [defualt] blah blah then.. promod0=yourgamename1 promod1=yougame2 promod2= etc you could pull of a quick minor edit of the gameslist text fi

yeah gtx have been distroing our latest update to all their affiliates recently. the update to 104c should be free (from a previous gtx dash version) unless it is sent on a disc out to you then there is a fee to cover postage costs and disc burn etc the new 104c has a new build of mame with virtual memory handling and a new build of media center, although we almost have our customised rip tool finished which will sport voice recognition (so you could wait for 105, oh and there is the nmp maps, there is probably something else
the gametronix crew can send it to you direct but you would need to mail them on info@gametronix.net and let them know wwhere and when you got it. although it costs its kinda nice to get the update on a disc so you can reinstall it if need be.

Any idea when this 105 version is due?? is installation hard?? and i remember you talking about there possibly being a user apps section on this dash, is that still going ahead, if not how do we make apps appear on the menu?? I'll try those fixes to the file and see what happens

no i dont know for sure, so you might as well just get the current ver ;)
as for the user apps section ive heard that is being implemented but the gtx crew can decide whether to make it of the main menu of of the apps section.
where do you think it should go?

Shindog,
I've just gotten version 1.04 and all seems good.... I would prefer there to be a user apps section in tne main menu.. but thats just a personal opinion... If ever you want anybody to do any user acceptance testing, for free, jsut let me know ;)
